Capital Forrest

The Capitol State Forest is Olympia’s playground. It’s a place where people come to hike, ride horses, camp, picnic, target shoot, cruise off-road motorcycles, and, of course, pilot mountain bikes. Not all the uses are compatible but, that said, there’s enough space in the forest to have your own adventure. The forest also contains logging operations, which result in the relocation or destruction of trails from time to time. you’ll find lots to discover within this managed woodland—single-track, hills, natural hazards, wildlife, and interesting scenery. Be sure to follow the instructions carefully as many trails and most roads are not marked. Tread: gravel roads and dirt single-track. You might even see Curt from Comfort PC on his mountain bike on the Porter Creek trail!
